Twenty-two countries and nearly two-hundred boxers are planning to participate at the 40th edition of the Golden Gloves of Vojvodina Youth Tournament according to the current details. All of the five Confederations are planning to send teams to the Serbian international youth tournament which has the strong brand name and tradition.
Azerbaijan, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Finland, France, Germany, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Norway, Scotland, Serbia, Slovakia, and Slovenia registered from the European continent and all of them are planning to send their best line-ups to the Golden Gloves of Vojvodina Youth Tournament.
Four strong Asian boxing powers such as India, Kazakhstan, Philippines and Thailand are planning to participate and give further international experiences for their boxers. Algeria and Morocco will represent the African continent, the United States of America the Panamerican region. One of the best Oceanian countries, New Zealand will be participating in the Golden Gloves of Vojvodina Youth Tournament with one boxer for the very first time in the event’s history.
The Golden Gloves of Vojvodina is one of the strongest youth competitions in the world and the organizers will be able to arrange another huge tournament keeping the highest possible level. The event will be a preparation tournament for the upcoming IBA Youth World Boxing Championships which will be held in La Nucia, Alicante region, Spain on November 13-27.
The original date of the 40th edition of the Golden Gloves of Vojvodina was August 2022 but the Serbian organizers decided to move the event to September 12-19 due to their another international competition, the Junior Nations Cup which will be held in August 9-15.
As in the previous editions, the city of Subotica, in the heart of the Vojvodina region will be the host of the youth competition. Boxers who were born in 2004 and in 2005 are eligible to attend in the 40th Golden Gloves of Vojvodina Youth Tournament where all of the 25 youth weight categories are in the official program.
The last edition of the Golden Gloves of Vojvodina Youth Tournament took place in September 2021. The total number of the participating nations was 15 in the 2021 Golden Gloves of Vojvodina Youth Tournament. Belgium, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Montenegro, Romania, Russia, host Serbia and Ukraine sent their youth talents to Subotica.
