The 30th International Boxing Tournament ‘Adriatic Pearl’ takes place on February 17th – February 22nd in Bar, Montenegro. The aim of the tournament is to ensure athlete’s preparation for the AIBA World Youth Championships in April 2021 in Kielce, Poland. In total, 140 athletes from 13 countries are confirmed to participate in the competition.
AIBA President Mr. Umar Kremlev is going to pay a call on the event to salute all guests, athletes and officials. Thus, one of the important parts of the visit will be official meetings with presidents of National Federations of Balkan countries and sports authorities.
‘I would be very pleased to visit this historical competition in Montenegro personally. Such tournaments are very important for athletes, especially now, in the absence of combat practice for a long time due to the situation with the pandemic,’ Mr. Kremlev claimed.
‘We are actively implementing reforms of AIBA worldwide and I would be delighted to discuss them directly with my colleagues. The Balkan National Federations have a rich history, this is of high importance to cooperate on a regular basis to achieve our goals together,’ he added.
After Montenegro AIBA President is looking to have an official visit to the Serbian Boxing Federation.
