AIBA Youth Men’s and Women’s Championships will take place in Kielce, Poland on April 10-24. The preparation for the tournament goes well with all safety measures. This will be the first major boxing competition taking place after the pandemic breakdown.
The registration for the tournament starts on February 26th and will end on March 20th.
‘It will be the first time the country welcomes the AIBA World Championships. The Polish Boxing Association continues to work hard towards hosting the event and AIBA is determined to give all the necessary support to conduct the tournament at the highest level,’ AIBA President Mr. Kremlev said.
Boxers born between January 1, 2002, and December 31, 2003, are eligible to take part in the competition. The world’s best youth boxers will be competing across 10 weight classes.
The decision was made that the event will be held without spectators as a precautionary measure.
AIBA was due to host the event between November 2 and 9, 2020, but it was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
