Umar Kremlev took part in the opening of the Russian Boxing Team Cup and laid the foundation stone for a new Boxing Center

On 14th of June Men’s Russian Boxing Cup started in Ekaterinburg, Russia. The opening ceremony was attended by President of the International Boxing Association (AIBA) Umar Kremlev, Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region Evgeny Kuyvashev and Secretary General of the Russian Boxing Federation Kirill Shchekutyev.

‘The Sverdlovsk Region is truly a boxing center. Ekaterinburg hosted the World Boxing Championships in 2019, today the Russian Boxing Team Cup has started. I hope the World Boxing Cup will take place here. Many thanks to the Sverdlovsk region for the organization and a huge contribution to the development of boxing’, Kremlev said.

Earlier that day, Umar Kremlev, Evgeny Kuyvashev and Kirill Shchekutyev laid the foundation stone for a future Boxing Center in Talitsa, city in Sverdlovsk region.

The Boxing Center in Talitsa will be built within the framework of agreements previously reached by the Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region and AIBA President.

‘Two years ago we planned the construction of five Boxing centers, and today we laid the foundation stone for the second ones. The first is already under construction in Kamensk-Uralsky. All this is done for the sake of our children, for the sake of our future. And this is a serious step to the development of boxing’, Kremlev claimed.

The Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region Evgeny Kuyvashev also considers this project as important ones for the region.

‘This is a pilot project that we are running together with the Russian Boxing Federation. In total, five such centers will be built in Sverdlovsk region. I am sure that we will do everything efficiently and on time. I will personally follow up the progress of the work. The boxing center should become a real gift for all citizens’, he said.

The project of the future center has already been prepared and passed the state examination. It will be a sports complex with a gym and special spaces for boxing trainings and competitions.
